About NFC Racing

NFC racing is a family and friend oriented fun activity that began in 2004 by Wayne and Brian Chapin and friends as just a thought that ultimately became a successful, respected race team. Wayne used to race cars in the early 90’s with his son Brian acting as his crew for him at the age of 6, and now the father-son team has reversed their roles. Supported by coworkers, friends, and family, in 2005 Wayne purchased the first car turning it into the race-ready NFC 44 Superstock for the 2006 Monadnock speedway season. After a smashing start (Brian hit the wall pretty hard the first race), NFC made themselves known to the rest of the division and track as respected, competent competitors, by running at the front of the pack on the track and in the points standings. As the season came to a close, NFC earned the third in points standing for the season and clinched the Rookie of Year title.

After an amazing first season, NFC returned for the 2007 season with one goal in mind- living up to their name NFC: Next Future Champion. The team started just as strongly as they finished the previous season by running at the front of the pack each week, and leading the points nearly all season. What seemed to be a given, turned into the unexpected for the team. During one week of competition, the team’s biggest, fellow competitor blew his transmission, nearly ending his season. Team NFC didn’t hesitate and gave the other team a spare transmission they had with them, little did NFC know that this act of kindness would bring both teams to a fight to the finish in the last race. While it would be nice to say that NFC came out on top, the other team who received the gifted transmission ended up tying in the points standing with the team for 1st place, but had one more win, so ultimately NFC came in second for the season. While it would seem that the team was devastated, they weren’t- they were there to race and showed true sportsmanship, and were ecstatic about the phenomenal back to back seasons they ran.

With two amazing seasons under their belt, NFC decided to look to new horizons and challenges. The team moved to Stafford Speedway in the Late Model division for 2008 as the # 47. Our first season proved to be most successful.  Brian learned the track quickly and ran consistently.  We finished our first season there with an impressive 9th points finish and Brian achieving the "Rookie of the Year" title.
